PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording/reproducing device by which magnetic leakage from a reel motor to a magnetic tape and a magnetic head can be completely shut off without using any magnetic plates, which is miniaturized and made thin, in which reel motors of take-up and supply sides are made common, and costs which are reduced. SOLUTION: A chassis 20 used for this magnetic recording/reproducing device 10 and loading first and second reel motors 40 and 60 is made of a magnetic material having a magnetism shut-off effect. The chassis may be a pressed sheet metal chassis made of an iron-based magnetic material, or a cast iron material, and formed by the injection molding of the magnetic material. The first and second reel motors 40 and 60 may be inner rotor type motors, having common structures.
