MAGNETO-OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS REPRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a transfer magnetic field generated form a recording layer near the center of a mark and to increase a stable region against an external magnetic field during reproduction by forming a transfer stabilizing layer near the recording layer. SOLUTION: The medium has a reproducing layer 103 which becomes a perpendicular magnetization film at least at reproducing temperature and a recording layer 105 having perpendicular magnetization anisotropy so that the information in the recording layer 105 is transferred to the reproducing layer 103 by magnetostatic coupling force. A transfer stabilizing layer 106 having exchange coupling force or magnetostatic coupling force with the recording layer 105 is formed in the opposite side of the recording layer 105 to the reproducing layer 103 side.
