PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional optical module that mutual connection cannot be made easily and promptly be done and that it is difficult to enhance a mounting density of the optical module. SOLUTION: The optical module 18 is provided with an optical circuit, in which an optical waveguide 19 is formed, and a fiber guide 17 having one end face jointed to one end face 21 of the optical circuit and for splicing an optical fiber 20 to one end of the optical waveguide 19 which is guided to the end face 21 of the optical circuit. The fiber guide 17 is provided with a guide hole 22, which opens to the end face of this fiber guide 17 at one end, and through which the optical fiber 20 is inserted, and provided with a guide groove 23 which is formed continuously to the other end of this guide hole 22 and is for guiding the optical fiber 20 from the other end of the guide hole 22 into the guide hole 22.
