PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recorder that can obtain an optimum laser power in recording by decreasing number of OPC(Optimum Power Control) performing times. SOLUTION: A CPU 17 has a 1st discrimination means 171 that discriminates to which of preset temperature ranges the ambient temperature detected at a trial write belongs, a management means 172 that stores an optimum laser power to each of the temperature ranges to manage them, a 2nd discrimination means 171 that discriminates to which of the temperature ranges a temperature range with the detected ambient temperature belonging thereto belongs at start of appending new records on the same recording medium, a reference means 173 that references the optimum laser power corresponding to the temperature range with the detected ambient temperature belonging thereto when the 1st or 2nd discrimination means 171 detects that the temperature range with the detected ambient temperature belonging thereto exists in any of the temperature ranges, and a performing means 174 that performs the OPC when the 1st or 2nd discrimination means 171 detects that the temperature range with the detected ambient temperature belonging thereto does not exist in any of the temperature ranges. |
