PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a device and a method for distributing information capable of speedily providing the contents data of comparatively large capacity to a portable information terminal without using radio. SOLUTION: This system has a portable information terminal 50 provided with an infrared transmitting/receiving part 52 capable of transmitting/receiving data by optical signals without contact and a storage means for storing data to be transmitted and received data, and an information distributing device 2 which is provided with an infrared transmitting/receiving part 3 capable of exchanging data with the infrared transmitting/receiving part 52 of the portable information terminal 50 and a storage means for storing contents data received through a network 100, for providing the contents data corresponding to a request from the portable information terminal 50. |
