PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for controlling the start of a brushless DC motor for the compressor of an air conditioner, which can shorten the starting time by increasing the probability of success in starting. SOLUTION: This system possesses a starting pattern storage table which has stored a plurality of starting patterns, a temperature measuring means which measures the ambient temperature of a motor, a voltage detection means which detects the input voltage, and a starting pattern selection means which selects a specified starting pattern, based on at least either of the measured ambient temperature or the detected input voltage, and when this has failed to start it by prescribed starting pattern, this selects the starting pattern on higher voltage level in order, and when this has failed to start it, even with the starting pattern on the maximum voltage level, this returns to the starting pattern on the minimum voltage level, and selects the starting pattern on higher voltage level in the order. Moreover, when the ambient temperature is high, this selects the starting pattern on low voltage level, and when the ambient temperature is low, this selects the starting pattern at the high-voltage level. |
