<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition which improves the cleanliness of crank cases. SOLUTION: There is provided a ship-engine lubricating oil composition for low- or medium-speed diesel engines, which comprises a large amount of oil of lubricating viscosity comprising a residual fuel component and a little fuel oil and a small amount of at least one oil-soluble or oil-dispersible ashless organic compound mixed with the oil, wherein at least two adjoining substitutable carbon atoms are part of an aromatic group or are connected by means of a double bond, and each carbon atom has an O- or O- and N- containing functional group, both the groups being derived from a carboxyl group.</p> |
