PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP with high luminous efficiency and brightness for a discharge cell size, in the discharge cells or the like of a PDP of High-Vision type or the like. SOLUTION: Visible light reflecting layer 17 and a barrier rib 18 are installed on a backside glass substrate 15, and phosphor layers 19 to 21 for each color of R, G and B are formed with an average film thickness of about 12μm of the region H having a face along the visible light reflection layer 17 and about 25μm for the region V having faces other than the above region H.
