PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steam heater capable of heating a material to be heated at an accurate temperature without adverse influence of air with steam at about 100 deg.C. SOLUTION: A steam supply tube 3 for supplying steam to a jacket 2 of a reaction vessel 1 is connected. The tube 3 is branched to a thermally-operated valve 12 and a steam ejector 5. A suction chamber 13 of the ejector 5 and the jacket 2 are connected via a check valve 14. An actuator 18 of the valve 12 communicates with a temperature sensing cylinder 17. When air is stored in the jacket 2 and its temperature is lowered, the cylinder 17 senses it to open the valve 12. Thus, the air is sucked to the ejector 5 and externally exhausted.
