PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor system for machine tool which can properly monitor the operation state of a machine tool, speedily handle an abnormality of the machine tool even when an operator is absent, remotely support the operator of the machine tool, and save the labor of a processing factory where the machine tool is installed. SOLUTION: This system has a camera 11 which picks up the image of the operation state of a machine tool 2, a computer 12 for communication which inputs image data from the camera 11, can send and receive data to and from a controller 3 for the machine tool, and is connected to a communication network 100, and a monitoring computer 50 which is connected in a communicable state to the communication network 12 and equipped with a start/stop means for generating start/stop information for starting and stopping a display device 51 and the machine tool 2.
