PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having satisfactory mechanical characteristics and high solubility in a halogen-free solvent and excellent in electrical characteristics, particularly responsiveness. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor with at least a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate, the bonding resin of the photosensitive layer contains a polyarylate resin comprising repeating units of formula (1) and the polyarylate resin content of the bonding resin is >30 wt.%.
