PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera in which a film cassette is easily loaded, where the loading of film is surely performed and whose structure is simple. SOLUTION: In this camera, the film cassette 95 is loaded in a cartridge chamber 2a in a direction going along a winding shaft 95f in a state where a film leader part 96b is wound. When loading the film cassette, the leader part 96b is inserted along the outer periphery of a sprocket 51. When inserting the film, a sprocket pawl is pressed by the end face of the film and retreated in a sprocket barrel, so that the film is inserted, and then perforation and the sprocket pawl are engaged. In the case of taking out the film cassette 95, the film cassette 95 is taken out by retreating the sprocket pawl 56 by the perforation.
