PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope, with which the edition of the images of samples, and the output of the proper images are possible. SOLUTION: The microscope 1 has an image recording section 60 in the upper position of a body tube 30. The image recording section 60 is provided with a card slot 63 and a memory card 70 mounted attachably in the card slot 63. The image signal (light signal) obtained from the sample 40 is recognized by a CCD(charge-coupled device) in the image recording section 60, where the signal is converted into an electrical signal (analog signal). The analog signal is converted to a digital signal by an analog-to-digital conversion circuit 62 and is then stored as image information in the memory card 70. The image recorded in the memory card 70 can be edited and outputted in a personal computer.
