摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit large torque by reducing loss in a friction gearing transmitting a power by friction between input and output members. SOLUTION: Power is transmitted between a plate disc 16 and a rotor 10 in contact with the upper surface 20 of the plate disc 16. The side surface 14 of the roller in contact with the upper surface 20 of the disc is set to a shape expressed by the following expression: [Mathematical Expression 15] z=a.sinh (bx2). This shape can make the distribution of the contact stress uniform within the range of approximately 80% in the width direction of the contact region. This shape prevents the formation of a stress peak in an end part and smoothly reduces the stress distribution toward the end.
