PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting unit enabled to use safely with feeling at ease, and applicable to various development. SOLUTION: The lighting device 1 comprises a metal-made housing part 2 housing a lighting unit 20, and a flat-shaped light display part 10 connected to and held by the housing pare 2 by inserting its one end part in an insertion opening 26 formed at the side of the housing part 2. The flat-shaped light display part 10 is formed so as to make the light emitted from a lamp 21 of the lighting unit 20 get in from the side end of two sheets of light guide plates 12a composing the light guide body 12, and get out from the surface, and illuminate a transparent panel surface 13 located at the side of the light guide plates 12a. |
