PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reporting device capable of appropriately coping with any abnormality that has arisen in an area to be monitored. SOLUTION: The reporting device 112, which reports any abnormality in the area 101 to be monitored to a monitoring center 104 remotely monitoring the area 101, includes a predetermined receiving end detecting portion 113 which detects that a telephone 111 disposed in the area 101 connects with a predetermined receiving end 102, and a control portion 116 and a transmitting/receiving portion 115 which transmit the contents of a call to the monitoring center 104 when the detecting portion 113 detects the connection.
