<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system and a method for reproducing/video- recording transmission data where a transmitter side attaches information with respect to picture data in video compression data to be transmitted to a header of the picture data and a receiver side retrieves the information so as to retrieve and extract a video image to be video-recorded, thereby permitting the reproduction and the video recording of only the video image. SOLUTION: In the transmission system where the transmitter side transmits video compression data, audio compression data and control information or the like as a transport stream subjected to time division packet multiplex processing in compliance with the MPEG-2, the transmitter side attaches picture information corresponding to a prescribed picture or event information or the like in a program with the prescribed picture related thereto to a private data area existing in a header of the picture data of the video compression data, and the receiver side retrieves a video mage to be reproduced/video-recorded from multiplexed video compression data in the received transport stream by retrieving the picture information or the event identification and extracts only the video mage to be reproduced/video-recorded to reproduce/ video-record the extracted video image.</p> |
