PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic building material which is excellent in mechanical strength and impact resistance. SOLUTION: According to the plastic building material, a substrate layer 1 is formed of a thermoplastic resin, and organic fibers being excellent in toughness and impact resistance is added to (or dispersed in) the substrate layer 1. Thus, degradation in impact resistance of the substrate resin, which is caused by compound of other reinforcing addition agents, is retarded, to thereby ensure good mechanical strength and impact resistance.
