PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel slit dam allowing easy connection of a steel frame anew on an existing steel dam for extension when the dam is fully filled with sediment. SOLUTION: In this steel slit dam principally constructed of vertical steel pipes 10 and horizontal members 12 arranged at predetermined intervals in the river width direction and/or in the river axial direction, a joint part 15 allowing connection of a future extension vertical member 9 is arranged in the upper end of the vertical steel pipe 10.
