PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric transformer which can be miniaturized while high power output and low loss are maintained and is excellent in output characteristic. SOLUTION: An input electrode whose length is almost one-half of a piezoelectric ceramic plate whose main surface is rectangular, L in length and W in width, is arranged on one side of the plate in the length direction of the plate, and an output electrode is arranged on an end surface of the other side. L/W is set from 0.65 to 0.75. Thereby miniaturization is realized by using vibration of a symmetrical surface spreading mode, and a merit wherein secondary capacity can be increased is obtained.
