PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an overhead distribution cable from hanging down and falling down when the cable breaks. SOLUTION: A tension member 3 made of a high strength non-metallic fiber with high tensile strength 5 times or more bigger than that of a twisted wire conductor 1 of aluminum or copper is arranged at the center part of the twisted wire conductor 1. The tension member 3 can be arranged as a covering layer covering the outer periphery of the twisted wire conductor 1, or a buried linear body in a plastic insulation covering 2, or an interposing layer laid between the twisted wire conductor 1 and the plastic insulation covering 2. As a high tension non-metallic fiber, an aramid fiber or a glass fiber can be adopted.
