PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven, in which a peephole is protected from becoming cloudy due to invasion of steam in the inside of the door, and the conditions in the heating chamber can be easily observed from outside. SOLUTION: In the microwave oven, a door 5 opens/closes a front opening 2 of a heating chamber 3. An up-down freely rotatable latch-head 9 is passed through a square hole 14 in the rear of the door 5 and protruded to the heating chamber 3. In heating food, the door 5 is engaged detachably with a front plate 1a by the latch head 9 to a latch hook (not shown) provided in the inside of the front sheet 1a of the heating chamber 3. A sealing member 15 is provided to the latch head 9 for sealing the square hole 14.
