摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can prevent a narrowed dynamic range that has occurred in the conventional image pickup device whose dynamic range is widened by extracting a voltage resulting from applying logarithmic transform to a photoelectric conversion output current by each pixel even when a gradation position frequency distribution of an optical image of an object is biased. SOLUTION: An optical filter that transmits an optical image of an object and makes the image incident onto an image pickup element section is configured with an arrangement where a full transmission filter section and a 1/2 transmission filter section are periodically arranged in the unit of pixels, or an electric signal from the image pickup section is electrically processed without the use of the optical liter and a composite signal of signals resulting from converting the electrically processed signal by two gradation position conversion characteristics S and n1 is outputted as a video signal. Thus, even when the gradation position range is narrowed from a position Ls to a position Ls2 with respect to the incident light as in the conventional image pickup device because of the biased gradation position frequency distribution of the optical image of the object, the image pickup device of this invention can extend the gradation position range up to a position Ls1 thereby extending the dynamic range.
