PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element that has long service life and high luminous efficiency, and to provide a new compound that realizes the element. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescence element has an organic film layer, made of a single or plural layers that have at least a luminous layer between a pair of electrodes, and a new compound that realizes the same is provided. At least one layer of the organic film layers contains a compound, that has a luminous molecular structure, that is substituted at least one by a polycyclic-alicyclic hydrocarbon group.
