PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent cleaning performance by making a potential difference between a belt having a high resistance value and a cleaning roller large without increasing applied bias to the cleaning roller in a belt cleaning device for an image forming device. SOLUTION: A transfer material carrying belt 20 is provided to be laid over one driving roller 21 and three driven rollers 22, 23 and 24. The belt is driven to be rotated so as to carry transfer material, and images formed on respective image carriers 10c, 10m, 10y and 10b are transferred to the transfer material and a synthetic full color image is recorded on the images. The cleaning roller 26 is pressed on the belt and electrically attracts and removes the toner adhering to the belt by the application of the bias reverse to the toner. A sheet type conductive member 28 comes into contact with the cleaning roller through the belt. The conductive member is grounded through a holder 29.
