A door or window assembly for association with a sill and/or head of a door or window opening is disclosed. The assembly has a pair of complementary stiles where, at the sill end or at the head end, or both, a seal providing means is provided to act as a seal between the complimentary parts of each stile in the closed condition. The seal providing means does not extend up from the sill or down from the head or both. The seal is at the inner region of the mating stiles. The stiles are provided with and external weather seal is addition to the sill end and/or head end seal inwardly from the stiles.
