The cardboard blank for producing a package for rose plants has long side walls (1, 2) attached to a smaller base (3) by fold lines. Each side wall has flaps (10 -13) attached to either side which have cooperating slots (12 -15), allowing opposing flaps to be hooked together when the package is assembled into a box shape. Creases (14 -17; 18 -21) on the ends of the side walls and flaps at 45 deg to their tops allow the top of the package to be folded in around the root ball. An Independent claim is included for a method for assembling the blank into a package.
