The invention relates to a method and to a device for detecting a defective brake disk, and to a wheel brake control. For detecting a defective brake disk the time-related behavior of the brake pressure or brake force signal is evaluated in a stationary operating mode or in a braking mode with slow build-up or decrease of the brake force, a defective brake disk being detected when said behavior is an oscillating behavior. If the brake disk is defective, wheel brake control is limited, especially adaptation of the characteristic curve is disabled.
