A test procedure for software involves subjecting the software to a computer-aided test sequence, and errors occurring during the test sequence are used via a software module to automatically establish an error profile comprising situation- and installation-conditional data. The error profile is then stored in a data bank and automatically compared with pre-stored error profiles, and the error profiles stored in the error data bank are expanded specifically by manually inputted data and text information.
