PURPOSE: A bi-potential mask type cathode ray tube is provided to simultaneously supply a screen voltage and a mask voltage to a fluorescent screen and a shadow mask with a single high voltage line. CONSTITUTION: A bi-potential mask type cathode ray tube comprises a vacuum bulb(8) including a face panel(2), a funnel(4) and a neck(6), a fluorescent screen(10), deflection yokes(12), an electron gun(14), and a shadow mask(16) including many beam passage apertures and insulated from the fluorescent screen(10). The shadow mask(16) and the fluorescent screen(10) form an acceleration electric field therebetween to focus an electron beam passing through the beam passage apertures. The bi-potential mask type cathode ray tube further comprises a single voltage supply line(22) connected to an external high voltage source(20), and a single anode button(24) for supplying the screen voltage and the mask voltage to the fluorescent screen(10) and the shadow mask(16), respectively.
