The drainage screw (1) has a hollow shaft (2) provided with a threaded section (3) for screwing into a hole in the skull of the patient and a multi-sided screw head (5). The hollow shaft has a multi-sided inner profile (7) at least over its threaded section. The drainage screw can be made of a material which does not show up during radiation imaging of the skull.
