A compact rotary pump with a controlled outflow has a rotor (22) with radial slots, each holding a slider shaped piston (30) with a needle or rod shaped bearing (36) at the outer end and pressed against the inside of the pump housing by an integral spring. The rotor is set eccentric inside the pump housing to provide varying pumping volumes as the rotor rotates. The piston slots are set at an angle of 20 to 40 deg. to the radius of the rotor.
