PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically adjusting a focus of a monitor is provided to optimize the efficiency and productivity of an adjustment process by calculating horizontal and vertical sizes of a photographed pattern image, calculating voltage adjustment quantity according to the calculated horizontal and vertical sizes, and automatically adjusting the focus of the monitor in a control unit. CONSTITUTION: A pattern generator(11) outputs a focus adjustment pattern such as a picture or a character to a monitor(10) for adjusting a focus. A camera unit photographs a pattern image displayed on the monitor(10) by the pattern generator(11) through all directions movement. An image processing unit(14) converts the pattern image photographed in the camera unit into a digital image signal capable of being processed in the system and outputs the converted digital image signal. A control unit receives the digital image signal outputted from the image processing unit(14), measures horizontal and vertical sizes of the pattern image, and calculates a voltage provided to the monitor(10) for calculating a focus voltage adjustment quantity, and generating the focus adjustment quantity. A voltage adjusting unit horizontally and vertically adjusts the focus of the monitor(10) according to the focus adjustment quantity calculated in the control unit. The control unit has the first control unit(15) for processing the digital image signal of the image processing unit(14), calculating a supply voltage suitable for the monitor(10), and generating control signals of a camera moving unit(13) and a driver moving unit(19) and the second control unit(16) for receiving the control signals generated from the first control unit(15), providing the received control signals to the camera moving unit(13) and the driver moving unit(19), and transmitting a measured movement coordinate to the first control unit(15).
