POROUS, SOUND ABSORBING CERAMIC MOLDINGS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

A porous and sound absorbing ceramic molded product which comprises a porous ceramic and has a bulk density of 0.5 to 1.0, characterized in that it comprises a circumferential sintered body comprising 100 parts by weight of a perlite having a globule diameter of 0.50 to 2.0 mm, 100 to 200 parts by weight of one or more sintered bodies selected from among fly ash, chamotte, wollastonite, slag, silica, a volcanic product, a rock and a clay mineral as a base phase material, and 10 to 20 parts by weight of an inorganic binder and in that above perlite gloubles themselves form communicating and open pores at portions where they contact with one another and thus it has communicating pores therein. The porous and sound absorbing ceramic molded product can be used for the production at a low cost of a sound absorbing brick, a sound absorbing tile and the like exhibiting excellent sound absorbing characteristics over a wide sound range from a low to high sound.
