PURPOSE: A method and a device for an interpretation service are provided to solve the problem raised by the conventional speech interpretation service that, when the service accepts arbitrary sentences, the service has a possibility of causing misunderstanding or mistranslation due to the limited capacity of a speech recognition system or machine translation system. CONSTITUTION: A private information management server(114) receives an incoming telephone call from a user, and manages a plurality of databases. The plurality of databases include at least more than one databases of sentences registered to the individual user. Additional sentence databases(120) are preferably accessed through the private information management server(114) via voice, E-mail, or intra/internet, and the additional sentences include new, edited, or deleted sentences for inclusion in the databases of registered sentences.
