<p>An infrared communication adapter for allowing a cellular phone having no infrared communication function to perform an infrared data exchange with an external device having an infrared communication interface. This infrared communication adapter includes a cellular phone connection section (4) connected to the external communication interface of a cellular phone for transmitting serial data supplied from the cellular phone; and an infrared communication interface (3) for performing data communication based on an infrared communication protocol with an external device. In order to send data, supplied from one communication interface, to the other communication interface, the infrared communication adapter analyzes the communication protocol of the communication interface on the data-supplying side, internally performs an RS232C emulation, and sends the data, after converting to the communication protocol associated with the communication interface on the data-receiving side.</p> |
