PURPOSE: A shock absorber of a vehicle is provided to move third and fourth pistons at a slight shock for compressing a gas layer to absorb the shock not to be transmitted to a vehicle body via a coil spring, thereby improving the vehicle riding feeling. CONSTITUTION: A shock absorber of a vehicle includes a serial cylinder(21) having first and second pistons(24,25) of an intermediate diameter and mounted at a lower part of a shock absorber(10), a connection cylinder(23) mounted to a side part of the serial cylinder and incorporating a third piston(27) of a small diameter, and a gas cylinder(23) connected to the serial cylinder via the connection cylinder and having a fourth piston(28) of a large diameter connected to the third piston via a rod(29).
