PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for mono and stereo voice services in a mobile terminal are provided to offer corresponding mono and stereo voice services to voice output units including a speaker, an ear jack and a handsfree. CONSTITUTION: A mono voice selecting unit(14) selects one between the first mono voice data associated with a call service in a mobile terminal and the second mono voice data associated with a multimedia service in the mobile terminal. A mono voice codec(18) demodulates the mono voice data provided from the mono voice selecting unit(14) and provides the first and second mono analog voice signals and a handsfree analog voice signal. A stereo voice DAC(Digital to Analog Converter)(20) converts stereo voice data associated with the multimedia service into left and right stereo analog voice signals and provides the converted left and right stereo analog voice signals. A voice output selecting unit(22) receives the first and second mono analog voice signals, the handsfree analog voice signal, and the left and right stereo analog voice signals, and outputs a corresponding voice to a handsfree terminal(24), a stereo ear jack(26), and a speaker(30) according to mono and stereo voice services of the mobile terminal and the insertion of an earphone.
