<p>A material removal tool holder (10) for a machine tool such as a CNC automatic turret lathe comprises a frame (12) for attachment to a turret with a tool holding channel (18) formed therein for holding a material removal tool (100). The material removal tool (100) is held within the channel (18) by fasteners connected to the frame (12). The position of the material removal tool (100) within the channel (18) of the frame (12) is adjustable by means of an adjustable shim (30) mounted in the channel (18). The adjustable shim (30) is disposed in the tool holding channel (18) between the material removal tool (100) and a wall (36) of the channel (18), and is adjustable to position a cutting edge (106) of the material removal tool (100) to a predetermined position in the machine tool.</p> |
