<p>Improved Processes and Apparatus for Treating Sewage or Like Sludge There is disclosed a process for treating sewage or similar organic sludge to produce a pasteurised and dried product comprising the steps of: drying the sludge to substantially the desired dry solids content of the product; and thereafter adding an alkaline admixture to the dried sludge in order to pasteurise and/or stabilise the sludge and thereby produce the product without employing subsequent drying by aeration.</p> |
