Portable test meter for high voltage and high current has digital signal processor and computer

A portable high voltage and high current test meter has a cycle-operated power amplifier (3) with output coupled to an adapter transformer (4-7) having a number of switch-selected secondary windings (5-7). The test item is connected to a secondary winding as appropriate. The test unit further has a control system consisting especially of a digital signal processor (8) and a controller or computer (9). The controller (9) regulates the power amplifier (3) and has automatic secondary winding (5-7) selection to generate the required test signal. The control unit (8,9) further evaluates the resulting test output signals.
