The present invention relates to a method and means for handovers in a cellular radio communication system. An Incoming Handover Co-ordinator node (IHC) is arranged to control inter-MSC handovers to an MSC-pool (201) in the cellular radio communication system. The IHC (301) acts as an MSC towards MSC's (303, 601, 602) outside of the MSC-pool service area during handover control signalling. Target cell analyses, for inter-MSC handovers, in MSC's outside the MSC-pool will indicate the IHC (301) of the MSC-pool (201) instead of a specific MSC in the MSC-pool. The IHC will distribute the incoming handovers to selected MSC's within the pool according to an incoming handover distribution mechanism. |
