<p>The invention relates to a sustained release delivery system for the delivery of an active agent to a warm-blooded animal and to uses thereof. The delivery system comprises an aqueous bicellar matrix that is liquid at temperatures below ambient temperature and forms a biodegradable gel at body temperature of said animal and an active agent, and optionally further comprises pharmaceutically acceptable additive, carrier and/or diluent. The aqueous bicellar matrix is preferably a mixture of a lipid, preferably phospholipid, and a detergent in water.</p> |
