PURPOSE: A chain auto-tensioner is provided to omit the oil chamber machining process for reducing the manufacturing cost and generate proper chain tension for reducing the vibration of the chain, thereby reducing the entire noise including the high frequency noise. CONSTITUTION: A chain auto-tensioner includes a housing guide part(36) for allowing a plunger(32) to move back and forth, an oil channel(40) connected to the guide part for applying an oil pressure to the plunger or a check ball(38), and a connection oil channel(42) formed at a surface of a housing to supply oil from a main gallery of an engine via the oil channel.
