The invention relates to a method for automatic frequency switching in mobile radio, whereby each of a number of mobile stations are in message-transmitting connection with one of a number of central stations on a pre-determined working frequency and, on a movement of a mobile station from the service area of the one central station into the service area of another central station, a change to a working frequency of the other central station is carried out and the location of the mobile station determined by means of a satellite-based positioning system. The working frequency and/or the central station with which the message-transmitting connection is to be established and maintained is determined from a look-up table, stored in the mobile station and/or the central station. Said table contains entries which correlate the position with the working frequency, or the central station. |
