<p>The invention provides an evaluation (preferably continuous) of the adherence level of a tyre on the ground, designed to detect an unstable adherence capable of resulting quickly into a loss of adherence or extended braking (hence high risk of serious accident) and to warn rapidly the driver and/or systems restoring a non-risky adherence level. The method for evaluating tyre/ground adherence at the contact zone comprises the following steps: (a) evaluating wheel micro-slips of the contact zone A(t); (b) calculating a physical quantity P(t) representing instantaneous adherence; (c) fine-tune monitoring the average adherence evolution; (d) reactive monitoring of the instantaneous adherence evolution; (e) extracting information of unstable adherence or imminent unstable adherence from steps (c) and/or (d); and (f) sending an appropriate signal to the driver and/or means managing situations of unstable adherence, adapted to bring about a restoration of non-risky adherence.</p> |
