The receiving part (5) for the rod to be joined to the screw (1) has its surface around its second bore at one end arranged unsymmetrically relative to the axis for the first bore in the opposite end. The receiving part has an open first bore at one end, an essentially U-shaped cross-section with threaded arms, and a second bore at the other end. The second bore has a diameter greater than the threaded part of the screw, but smaller than the screw head diameter. A seat for the screw head and a nut or screw are also provided. An Independent claim is also included for a bone screw with a cavity or milled region in its neck, adjacent to the ball segment.
