REFLECTIVE AND SEMIPERMEABLE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT

PURPOSE: A reflective and semipermeable LCD element is provided to make a reflective electrode extended up to an array's external part without using a black matrix, thereby preventing light generated from a backlight from letting out. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer(23) is formed between the first substrate(21) and the second substrate(22). A gate line is arranged on the first substrate(21) in parallel. A gate insulating layer(24) is formed on a front side including a gate line. A data line(25) formed on the gate insulating layer(24) makes a matrix structure with the gate lien, and distinguishes a unit pixel area. A TFT is formed on a cross point of the gate line and the data line(25). A protecting layer(26) is formed on the front side including the TFT. A pixel electrode is electrically connected to the TFT on a predetermined part of the protecting layer(26). A color filter layer is formed on the second substrate(22) to display colors.
