PURPOSE: A printer compensating image according to remaining amount of ink and control method of the same are provided to compensate image according to remaining amount of ink in an ink tank. CONSTITUTION: A printer includes an ink cartridge(42); a head driving part(40); a first storage part(46); a second storage part(48); and a control part(50). The ink cartridge includes an ink tank; an ink sprayer; and an ink amount detecting sensor(44). The head driving part generates a driving signal to drive the ink cartridge in response to image data. The first storage part stores a compensation table according to remaining amount of ink in the ink tank. The second storage part stores the image data. The control part detects remaining amount of ink in the ink cartridge in response to printing order, compensates image data stored in the second storage part referring to the compensation table in the first storage part and transmits compensated image data to the head driving part.
