DNA element and associated protein

摘要

Regulatory proteins and peptides that can interact with human CD33 protein are provided, together with nucleic acids encoding them. In particular SEQ ID No 1 is a cDNA sequence identified as an important regulatory element. Functional equivalents of that sequence have homology with part or all of human dystrophin inverted in comparison to the dystrophin gene sequence. The invention is of use in gene therapy, especially for diseases involving gene truncation.
